Bowler City Introduce
For New Jersey residents across Bergen County and beyond, Bowler City in Hackensack stands as a true landmark and a comprehensive destination for family entertainment. This isn't just a small, local alley; it is a substantial, modernized facility that boasts an impressive 50 lanes of action, making it one of the largest and most accommodating bowling centers in the region. As part of the Nationwide Bowling Centers family, which has been family-owned and operated since 1957, Bowler City combines decades of experience in the sport with recent investments in modern amenities to cater to every kind of guest, from the casual weekend bowler to the dedicated league competitor.
The sheer scale of the 50-lane capacity ensures that Bowler City is a major player in the regional entertainment scene, capable of hosting large tournaments, multiple leagues, and numerous open bowling groups simultaneously. Guests can enjoy the latest in bowling technology, including automatic scoring systems that make keeping track of the game effortless, and bumpers available for children and novice bowlers. Beyond the lanes, the facility has actively enhanced its appeal with a Brand New State-of-the-Art Arcade Games area and a renovated City Lounge, offering exciting options for when you need a break from throwing strikes. The arcade includes ticket redemption games and is popular with families.
A surprising, yet highly celebrated, feature that contributes significantly to the overall customer experience is the thoughtful design of the lounge areas. Patrons consistently praise the seating near the lanes, often describing the height and sturdiness of the chairs and tables as spectacular and a masterpiece of seating design. The chairs are engineered to rotate and rock smoothly, providing serene comfort for spectators or bowlers waiting their turn. This dedication to guest physical comfort ensures that a trip to Bowler City is relaxing and enjoyable from the moment you arrive until you leave, underscoring the management's commitment to a holistic, quality experience.
While the establishment is long-standing, ensuring the facility meets modern expectations is an ongoing priority. The lanes are generally reported to be well-functioning and well-maintained. The convenience of a Full Service Grill and a Walk Up Service Bar means all your food and beverage needs are met on-site, whether you're grabbing a quick snack or ordering catering for a private event. The menu is noted to include classic favorites like pizza, hot dogs, crispy French fries, and savory chicken wings. While a few older customer comments have noted issues with the aging appearance of some facility areas (like ceilings/vents) or occasional inconsistencies in food service hours, the overall consensus highlights the venue's core value: a fun, high-capacity, and convenient entertainment experience in New Jersey with a commitment to comfortable, engaging bowling.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If you’re not a total idiot, you appreciate well designed seating. I gotta tell you, the height of these seats and table are spectacular. The foot rest is sturdy and also the perfect height. The chairs rotate and rock in a smooth and satisfying manner. Overall, it’s a masterpiece of seating design and an incredible feat of engineering. I plan on coming here frequently in the future to just to serenely enjoy the seating and not even bowl. Highly recommended! Cool!
September 27 · S MannThis place is definitely aging and showing it. The ceiling is the biggest issue there. The vents have dirt on and around them. It isn't just retro. It is neglect. The lanes looked good and functioned properly from what I could tell. The food stand was not open when we arrived at 12:30pm. Around 1pm, the lights came on, but no one came to the front, so it still looked closed. I wouldn't come back. Too expensive for everything to look like it does. Plenty of parking out front during the day, though.
June 22 · TrishNo thrill bowling alley. The lanes are waxed nicely but the bowling balls can be in better condition. The rental shoes are also a bit worn out but overall, a good place to bowl. We opted to pay per game $7 per game per person) and played 3 rounds. Wouldn’t mind coming back to play and opt for any of their bowling specials.
June 03 · Nicole KimBeen going here for decades. Fond memories of going here for school field trips and birthday parties when I was younger and more recently as an adult bowling for fun.50 nice lanes, modern screens and scoring. Great prices, Friendly employees. Bowling leagues. Mini bar, pro shop, mini arcade with a half dozen arcade games, snack bar with lots of good food for lunch or dinner and lots of snacks in between. Also great prices at the snack bar.Kid friendly too with gutter guards, plastic dinosaur ball launchers and some super light balls for kids to pick from. Also great birthday party packages that include bowling, pizza and a private party room.Lots of parking and free parking.I realize that Hackensack is attempting to modernize itself by making expensive luxury apartment buildings all over the place. I really hope that the owners of Bowler City realize that the loyal customer base who have been going here for decades and continue to patronize your awesome Bowling Alley are mostly regular folks who do not have millions of dollars in the bank and therefore I hope the owners of this place keep the prices where they are and remain affordable to support these super loyal customers.
December 31 · Jer BrackJust a casual hometown bowling spot I like to go to. Not sure how it compares to others out there, but it gets the job done. Shoe rental is $5 per person and games are $7 each—I usually play 2-3 games. They also offer hourly rates, though I don’t remember the exact price. Parking is easy, which is a plus.
