Laurel Lanes Introduce
For residents across South Jersey and the greater Burlington County area, Laurel Lanes in Maple Shade stands as a monumental and modern evolution of the classic bowling alley. Originally established in the 1950s, the center has been continuously updated and expanded by owner Keith Johnson and his team, transforming it into a cutting-edge 60-lane entertainment complex. It is known today as "Splitz Bowling Bar & Grill (Home of Laurel Lanes)," signaling its status as a complete entertainment, dining, and event venue.
The focus at Laurel Lanes is on providing a premium, multi-faceted experience. This starts with the bowling itself, featuring 60 state-of-the-art lanes equipped with interactive scoring and massive HD projection screens for a truly immersive game. Beyond bowling, the facility boasts a comprehensive entertainment menu that includes a huge arcade, full-body Virtual Reality (VR), and even Esports attractions, ensuring that there is "something for everyone." The onsite bar and grill, Splitz, offers a high-quality American grill fare menu, eliminating the need to leave the complex for excellent food and drink.
While the ambition for this facility is clearly toward a high-energy, modern entertainment standard, it is important for prospective patrons to note that the experience can sometimes be inconsistent, particularly regarding the service, as some patrons have reported issues with attentiveness and order accuracy during peak times. The management, under owner Keith Johnson, who has been with the center since 1997, is committed to maintaining strict standards of excellence and keeping the center ahead of the times.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Will never step foot in this place again. We attended a Love Island watch party. My wife arrived ahead of me, and she waited standing for 15-20 minutes to be seated—no greeting, no acknowledgment. Eventually, she sat herself. Even then, employees walked by multiple times without checking on her for another 15-20 minutes. Keep in mind, the place wasn’t even crowded. Finally, a gentleman came over, and she ordered two drinks: a featured summer fruity cocktail and a Honey Jack with ice on the side (for me) because she didn’t want my drink watered down. Ten minutes later, he returned with her drinks—her cocktail had no ice. When she pointed it out, he acted annoyed and said, “Didn’t you ask for no ice?” She explained she asked for ice on the side for my drink, so why serve a drink with no ice? He seemed upset and said he’d bring ice, then left for another 10 minutes. When I arrived, she told me everything that happened. We decided to order food and enjoy the event. The same guy never returned to take our order, so I had to flag down a young lady who took our order: grilled chicken Caesar salad (no croutons or tomatoes, dressing on the side), 8-piece wings, mozzarella sticks, and fries. The place was still not busy, but we waited 35 minutes for our food. When it arrived, the salad was just a plate of lettuce with dressing on the side, the mozzarella sticks were frozen, and they forgot the fries. We flagged down the server. My wife asked about the chicken, and she acted confused, “You wanted chicken?” Yes, grilled chicken Caesar salad, politely repeated. We told her the mozzarella sticks were cold; she swapped them out with another customer’s order. The chicken finally arrived, and things seemed better—until my wife noticed a bug in her salad before her second bite. We were furious. When we told the server, her response was indifferent: “Oh, okay, I’ll get you a fresh one.” . No apology, no concern—just “Okay, I’ll get you another one.” My wife gave up told her no it’s fine and asked to have it taken off the bill. We had an open tab.On top of everything, the sound for the watch party went off and we couldn’t hear anything. We closed our tab and left. I spoke to the manager, but he didn’t seem concerned about our experience. We also noticed other people leaving and canceling orders because the service was that bad. This place is a total disappointment. We will never come back.
July 11 · Ed MoralesUpon arrival, I waited over 30 minutes for drinks. When I approached the bar, the bartender said I couldn’t order multiple drinks without both parties present and that I couldn’t bring drinks to the table, only wait for a waitress. After an hour with no service, despite seeing the waitress visit other lanes, she never arrived.Later, a janitor asked me to put on my shoes. I asked to speak with the manager, who arrived dismissively and asked, "Can you put your shoes on?" Despite over five waitstaff being on duty, no one attended to our lane. Also , she was present standing by the lockers the whole time. Overall, the customer service was disappointingShoe watching but poor customer service and dirty men’s bathroom.
May 25 · FarelyClean, well run, nice and big. Used to go there all the time when I was I lived in the area and it’s one of my favorites. This past time though, the land was unevenly oiled and I couldn’t land a spin anywhere near the right side of the lane, as it wouldn’t lose traction. If my placement was more center lane, it would spin out to the left gutter. I can’t confirm whether or not this is the norm, but I’d take off a star for that only.
July 28 · naftali weinschneiderI had an excellent experience thanks to our server, Lynn. From the moment we were seated, Lynn was friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. The company I work for is a frequent flyer & we keep coming back for Lynn! I wish she had more shifts! Everything came out quickly and just as we ordered, and Lynn’s positive attitude really added to the overall experience. You can tell they genuinely care about providing great service. Highly recommend!
May 24 · Leia RubbaTyler was amazing! We truly appreciate all the help with our large party. Your patience and outstanding customer service did not go unnoticed. Thank you!!
